Why you should use a silencer when hunting

When hunting, hearing protectors are at best a hindrance and you need all your senses to approach the often shy game. However, since the explosive bang of a gunshot is extremely damaging to our hearing, a silencer offers the perfect solution to protect you and your four-legged hunting companion from long-term hearing damage.

How the silencer works

The gases escaping when the shot is fired and after the projectile are discharged in a targeted manner after the muzzle of the barrel and when the bullet passes through the silencer in its expansion chambers, and the intensity of the explosion of the ignited cartridge, which otherwise occurs unhindered in the exit, is significantly reduced in its exit strength.

What are the other advantages of the silencer

Bullet accuracy can be promoted by relaxing the exit gases and reducing gas turbulence.

In twilight and in the dark, the silencer reduces the muzzle flash. This prevents the shooter from being blinded and thus makes it easier to see whether a shot has been fired at the game. In the case of dynamic hunting, it is also better guaranteed that follow-up shots are fired more reliably.

Since a not inconsiderable recoil occurs when a cartridge is fired, the use of a silencer can significantly relieve the shooter, since the gases "pull" the weapon in the direction of the shot through targeted discharge.

What to consider when buying a silencer

It is primarily necessary to make sure which silencers are actually suitable for your own weapon. Not all silencers are "magnum fit" which in plain language means that the recommendation of the neighbor who uses a brand X silencer on his rifle eg 7x64 cannot be given the same performance and durability as if you use a .300 Win. Mag. or 9.3x62, which require a “hard gas-capable” silencer even without a magnum designation!

Furthermore, for weapons with open sights or older weapons, only a muzzle-flush silencer can be considered, whereas when using telescopic sights or newer weapons, overbarrel silencers that shorten the length and promote balance are often used.

We therefore have the high-performance silencers of the brand SIW (Stille im Wald) Made in Germany and the Bulgarian manufacturer HQS in our program.

Make your gun QUIET. We would be happy to advise you.
